Scrapper's Delight Pyramage Sheets

Greetings!

Today I am going to share with you a baby card I made using the Pyramage sheets.  I created a tutorial to show how I created my pyramage image digitally using MS Word.  I hope you find the information useful.

For this tutorial I will use Digital Pryamage Sheets from Scrapper’s Delights.   I came up with this tutorial because I wanted to save on the amount of ink I used.  If I would have printed out each square image or only a few, it would have used more ink.

Open up a MS Word document and insert your Pryamage Sheet.  Make copies of the entire sheet for the numbr of each square you would like to use.  For example if you decided that 5 layers were enough for you, then you would copy the entire sheet five times.  You will crop the 5 layers that you want to work with.  PLEASE NOTE:  You don’t have to use all the Pryamage Squares it really depends on the look you would like to achieve.
Then use the cropping tool to crop out the squares that you want to work with.  Be sure to keep the sizing the same as the original sheet.  This is important when you begin to assemble them.  You want them to fit perfectly and not be disproportioned.

Once you have all your layers cropped, then you can add shadowing to your images.  Click on a layer and at the top of your toolbar your “Pictures Tools” tab should pop up.  While still having your layer selected click on the “Picture Tools” tab and select “Picture Effects, Shadow and Outer.”  Dependingon what version of MS Word you are using there are several outer shadows to choose from.  You can click on the different shadows and see which one works for you.  For the sample below, I chose Outer, Offset Diagonal bottom right.  (This step could be done after you have grouped your images together as well.)

Group your images together (using the Grouping tool under the Drawing Tools), which will allow you to move the images as one image instead of separately.   You can now print your image off and cut out one square (instead of 5).  Also, you could copy your image into Paint and save it as a jpeg or png for future use.

Hope you give it a try!  Stop by Scrapper's Delights store and pick up your very on Pyramage Sheets.

ADFD New Release ~ Freebie Bundle

Greetings!

Wow, it is finally Friday!  This is a bittersweet Friday for me.  Today my term on the ADFD Design Team comes to an end.  I am so grateful to Tammy for allowing me to play with her awesome images.  Also, a big THANKS to Arielle for being our fearless leader!  I will miss working with the talented ladies on the DT, but will forever be inspired by their creations and Tammy's work.  THANK YOU all!!

Also, today is my momma's 70th birthday!!  She doesn't look her age and I only hope that I inherit her beautiful, flawless skin (not a wrinkle) when I am her age.  Today is going to be crazy for me as we prepare for her dinner celebration tomorrow night.  Hopefully I will be able to come back and post her gift and card.

Okay, back to the business at hand.  Here's my creation using the oober adorable "Beauty" mermaid from the Freebie Bundle collection.  I made a shape card using an awesome svg (scalable vector graphics) file created by Bird.  If you have never visited Bird's blog, you should.  She has tons of freebies and her creations are so inspiring.  She makes several svgs, which are cutting files that you can use with virtually any cutting machine.  It is because of these files that I use my Cricut at all.

Well, here's my creation...

My sentiment comes from Paulette over at Create with TLC.  It was so appropriate to accompany this image.  If you haven't visited Paulette's blog, then what planet have to been hiding out on?  She also has tons of awesome freebies and the creations that are created using her images are so inspiring.  You will truly gain a wealth of knowlege stopping by her blog.

With the exception of the circle shapes, everything on the card was cut out using SVGs from Bird's blog.  I colored this cutie up using Copic markers and then added some Glass Gel over the bubbles to make them pop. (lol)

You can pick these precious images up from the ADFD store (along with the entire set). While you are there color one of them up and enter your creation in our "Glitter" challenge for a chance to win a $12 store credit. You can also check us out on FB, CDAC, PCP, and the Crafter's Cafe.

New Release Snow Globe and Glitter Challenge

Brrrr!

Okay, today when I woke up and my phone told me it was 1 degrees outside I thought my phone had to be broken, but it wasn't.  Sure enough, it was 1 degree outside and now it is up to 8 degrees.  These are children ages not tempatures for outside. *gigl*  I can hear my grandmother say, "baby, it needs to be this cold to kill off all the germs."  I hear ya grandma.  I will stop complaining now. :-)

Okay, today I bring you a beautiful Fairy in a Snow Globe from ADFD.  This image is part of the ADFD's new releases this week "Snow Globes."  It is also challenge Friday so we are asking that you add glitter (you can use Stickles, glitter paper or embellishments) to your project to make it shine.  Here's my creation using this lovely image and glitter...

I don't know if you can see it, but I used Stickles on the Fairy's wings.  I also used clear glaze for the snow globe itself to make it look like glass.  I actually cut my image off the original base and added it to this base.  The swirly design is a svg I cut out (along with the base) using my Cricut machine and my Make the Cut software.  I love this software and I love svgs.

Scrapper's Delights has love in the air...

Greetings!

Happy Saturday!  I hope you survived Friday the 13th. :-)  I actually had a very productive day off.  I colored 15 images and will assemble the cards today.  Woohoo for me!

Today I am bringing you a very pretty pixie fairy from Scrapper's Delights.  Janice images are so magical and elegant.  I really enjoy working with them.  Here's my creation...

I used this gorgeous paper from MME's Found collection.  It has lots of sheets of pretty two-sided paper that is perfect for those Valentine's day cards.  I kept with the pink-red theme and added some pearl embellishments to finish it off.  You can snag this beauty on Monday, January 16th by visiting the store here and while you are there check out the other awesome images Janice has created.

Also, won't you consider coloring your image up and joining us over at the Challenge blog?  This month challenge is easy-peasy because Anything Goes. Janice is also kind enough to offer you a freebie so there are no excuses...come play.

ADFD New Release ~ Believe

Greetings!

Happy Friday the 13th?  I hope that if you are superstitious that no black cats cross your path and that you don't walk under any ladders.

Today I bring to you the new release from ADFD.  I know that there has been a lot of post about ADFD images lately, but I am sure you will enjoy them.  I chose to work with the Magic Story image.  It is a precious image that shows how powerful reading can be and as an avid reader I can totally relate.

I used digital maskings for the background behind the little reader.  I wanted to add color, but still make the image stand out.  I enjoy blending digital aspects with the other elements to create a project.

You can pick these precious images up from the ADFD store (along with the entire set). While you are there color one of them up and enter your creation in our "Pastel Color" challenge for a chance to win a $12 store credit. You can also check us out on FB, CDAC, PCP, and the Crafter's Cafe.

"Cat Lady"

Meow...(cat talk for Greetings)!

I have to start this post off saying that I am not a cat person.  I get scared easily and cats love to sneak up on you so it isn't a good combination.  *gigl*  My former boss is the Queen of Cat Ladies so I dedicate this post to her. She takes in stray cats, nurses them and treats them like little people.  To each his own, right?  Well, the Cat Lady that I bring to you today is probably like no other you have seen.  Tammy has created some elegant images for the ADFD January Club Kit.  If you are not familiar with the Club, then check it out here.  Each month members get an exclusive kit, full of gorgeous images, that aren't available in the regular shop! PLUS, they get huge discounts in the shop!
Here's a sampling of January's Club Kit and my creation using the elegant Cat Lady image.

Isn't this image purrfect?!  (I couldn't resist.)  The minute I saw these images I knew I wanted to play with them.  I loved the fact that it was elegance with a touch of whimsy.  I came up with this color combo by sheer accident, but I think it works.  These are truly a work of art that you could frame and display or give as gifts.  You should consider joining the club so that you don't miss out on the wonderful images like these and so many more.

ADFD Childhood & Pastel Challenge

Greetings!

Woohoo it's Friday!  Although I only worked three days this week, it has truly been the longest week ever.  Well, I am here to share ADFD's new release images and to invite you to join our "Pastel" color  challenge.  I had the awsome opportunity to work with the "chubby flower garden" image.  These versatile flowers add a touch of Spring to any card.

I used a very simple color scheme of light blues, yellows, and white with a hint of pink and green.  The cinnament reads: "grow a garden of kindness by planting a seed of gratitude."  Later, I will post this cinnament up above for you to get if you like (it will not be a in the trailing format).

Happy Birthday Twins!!

Greetings!

I hope your first Thursday of New Year is going well.  I am here to share a card I made for my little sister Jacqulyn who turns 34 today!  She makes up 1/2 of the second set of twins in our family.  Her other half is my brother Jamie who is the polar opposite of her in so many ways. lol  She is bubbly and outgoing and he is quite and mild manner.   Anyway, they turn 34 today so I made this card for her (would make one for him, but he isn't a card kind of guy).

This is the front of the card and the inside reads, "your twin got the other half of this card."  We would joke with them all the time that because they were twins they couldn't have a whole of anything.  Instead, they would get half of the cookie and the other twin would get the othe rhalf.  Her husband is surprising her with a bday party tonight (I don't think she follows my blog. eek!) and so I will give her this card and a gift.  I had to chuckle to myself when I came up with this idea, because it is truly the perfect card for her.

I wanted to keep it simple and came across this bright paper that totally fits her personality.  The picture really doesn't show it well, but there are strips of glitter in the paper too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE AND JAMIE!!!

*GiGL* HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Greetings!

I just wanted to share something that made me smile today with you.  I pulled this off of Pinterest.  If you have not visited Pinterest yet, you need to.  I actually hurt my thumb (reason for the absence), because I hurt my thumb from "pinning" so much.  Pathetic, I know, but true.  I am a pinning addict and I've been inspired in so many ways since my sister got me hooked on this site.  Anways, if you are a member, click on the Pinterest button over on the right to follow me (and I'll follow you back).  If  you are not a member, but would like to be...send me an email (cardsbycandy@yahoo.com) and I will send you an invite.  Trust me you will definitely enjoy it!

Okay, well here's my fun for the New Year.  Follow the directions and leave your four words in the comment section.  I would love to hear what four words describes you.  My words were SWEET (lol-honestly the very first word I saw), SINCERE, ELEGANT AND PEACEFUL!  I would definitely say that this is truly who I am or who I aspire to be. :-)

Don't forget to leave your four words in the comments.  Have a blessed and safe day!!
